Peter Hanson enjoyed his most successful event in over three years of golfing weekends with victory at the 2008 SAS Masters in Sweden yesterday (Sunday, August 17th).
The 30-year-old won by a stroke at the Arlandastad course in Stockholm to take his first title since the 2008 Spanish Open, finishing on nine-under par
England's Nick Dougerty and Hanson's compatriot Pelle Edberg tied for second on eight-under.
"Hopefully, this will mean a lot for Swedish golf," commented the world number 89. "For me, it has been difficult to get that second title. It's been a long wait."
Titleist endorsee Hanson, still only the seventh highest-ranked player in Sweden, now moves up to 17th in the European Tour's Ryder Cup standings.
In his first outing as a professional, 20-year-old Chris Wood finished tied for 18th, ending up on three-under.
The Open Championship silver medallist will be hoping for more golfing breaks during his career, following an unlucky food poisoning which saw him fall back from the lead after the second round.
