Ernie Els feels he was unlucky not to have finished higher than second place in the Singapore Open at the weekend.
The South African finished on six-under par, level with double major winner Padraig Harrington, but one shot behind winner Jeev Milkha Singh of India.
But
Callaway Golf's Els, now ranked eighth in the world, saw several of his putts on the back nine come agonisingly close without dropping.
He commented: "The gods were not with me. They all looked like they were going in. The one on 17 just missed at the bottom left, the one on 15 was just over the edge.
"It shows that golf is just a game of inches," he added. "It could have been a win, but Jeev is a great guy and I'm happy for him."
Singh's victory means he is the first competitor on the Asian Tour to break the $1 million (£679,000) mark in one season, as well as giving him top spot in the tour's Order of Merit.
