Colin Montgomerie refused to appear bitter after his omission from the European Ryder Cup set-up, vowing to return to team golf's biggest stage.
The 45-year-old was left out of the side for Valhalla, along with fellow veteran Darren Clarke, as captain Nick Faldo opted for Paul Casey of
Nike Golf and Ian Poulter as his two wildcard picks.
But Monty wished the team all the best and has not discounted himself competing in future Ryder Cup campaigns.
He said: "I do feel I have not played my last Ryder Cup. But I have to get my consistent game back.
"It will be harder next time, so I have to raise the bar as well. But I am determined to do that."
Meanwhile, Ryder Cup legend Tony Jacklin has told Sky Sports he is "excited" at the blend of European players that will travel to Kentucky, expecting them to "gel well".
