Sergio Garcia has not ruled out the possibility of catching world number one Tiger Woods at the top of the rankings in the future.
The Spanish
TaylorMade endorsee has leapfrogged Phil Mickelson to go to number two in the standings following his play-off win at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai this week.
Now Garcia has set his sights on 14-time major winner Tiger Woods, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation following knee surgery.
He told Reuters: "Attacking number one probably depends a little bit on how much (Woods) takes off and if I keep playing well.
"It's possible, mainly because he's been injured, but we know that as soon as he comes out, he's going to play well... but I've never been this close to number one and it's exciting to be there."
Meanwhile, England's Oliver Wilson has spoken of his disappointment at losing out to Garcia in a sudden death contest - victory would have given the 28-year-old his first title on the European Tour.
