Couples is JT's number one

R'n'B star and golf enthusiast Justin Timberlake has picked out American Fred Couples as his favourite player.

Pin-up singer JT was quizzed on the identity of his number one pro while promoting Callaway Golf's new FT-IQ driver in New York.

Speaking to the Big Apple's New York Times, Timberlake revealed his admiration for Couples, a US Masters winner in 1992.

He told the newspaper: "Tiger Woods, of course, but I love Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson.

"I would have to say that my favourite golfer of all time is Fred Couples. I just love the tempo of his swing. When he drives through the ball, it's like he's not even swinging."

Timberlake recently signed a sponsorship deal with Callaway Golf - the manufacturer, which also sponsors world number three Mickelson, will now provider Timberlake with clubs and bags for his regular outings on the course.
