Seve Ballesteros has shown slight signs of improvement following a second operation since being diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier in the month.
A spokesperson for the 51-year-old Spanish legend has revealed that after undergoing surgery to remove swelling that had built up in the brain area, Ballesteros has made progress.
The five-time major winner's representative said that doctors had "let him wake up for a short while".
"He reacted well and then they put him back under sedation again. As hours go by, it means a bit of recovery."
Ballesteros, who triumphed in the Open Championship on three occasions and at the US Masters twice, had retired only last year due to knee and arthritic problems.
He was taken into hospital on Sunday, October 6th, after collapsing in Madrid Airport.
After turning professional at the tender age of 16, Ballesteros rose to prominence with second place finish at the Open Championship two years later.
