Golfers who do not put in the hard work on the driving range will not reap the dividends by shooting much lower scores, one expert has highlighted.
Jane Frost, one of America's top teaching professionals, has urged golfers to set themselves attainable goals, before grinding out the practice hours in order to achieve those goals.
She told the Cape Cod Times: "First, you need to identify your goals and be realistic in what youre prepared to do to achieve them. There aren't any simple solutions.
"It takes sweat equity. If you can only practice one hour a week, or you only play once a week, that's OK, but then your expectations have to be in line with the commitment you're making."
According to the US National Golf Foundation, the average score recorded by players on an 18-hole course is approximately 100, with only 22 per cent shooting lower than 90.
