The face area has been increased by 10% from previous all-Titanium models. Not only does this give a larger hitting area but the MOI (Moment Of Inertia) is also increased for more resistance to head twisting on off centre strikes.
A consistent alignment sole allows the club to sit square behind the ball on every shot. No matter how you place the club at set up it will automatically set itself up square.

I bought a 10 degree stiff shaft model after test-driving( excuse the pun ) eight drivers including the FT-3 and the Taylormade R7. This driver, whilst not appreciably longer than the others, was the more consistent in length and ease of hitting and gave me more confidence at address. Not cheap, but a winner for me.
